POSITION PURPOSE:


Responsible for greeting customers and communicating their arrival to appropriate areas, answering the telephone, maintaining and facilitating access to all Diagnostic Imaging Department Medical Records.

In addition, serves as a liaison between patient and Diagnostic Imaging/medical support staff.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Greets and checks in customers, verifying customer/patient information. Listens and responds appropriately to questions and complaints.
  • Manages distribution and release of Diagnostic Imaging records and reports.
  • Facilitates communication for radiologists and other customers.
  • Maintains integrity of appropriate electronic records to facilitate accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Maintains inventory and orders office supplies appropriately.
  • Supports clerical duties of the revenue cycle as assigned.
  • Responsible for the process of gathering and distribution of daily patients' schedules and corresponding orders.
  • Perform other related duties, incidental to the work described herein, as directed by director.

SPECIALIZED KNOW-HOW & REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in medical receptionist role preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • General office skills required.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to any agerelated needs of the patients served on assigned unit. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient population served. Able to assess and interpret data about the patient's status in order to identify each patient's needs and provide the appropriate care, including agerelated care, needed by the neonate, pediatric, adolescent and/or geriatric patient group.
