We are looking for a full-time Banquet Captain/Lead Server to join our tight-knit team at the Union Club.At least one year of experience is preferred but we are willing to train those with a strong work ethic and an interest in the Hospitality/Food and Beverage industry.
Banquet Captain Duties:
leads and supervises banquet servers to assure member and guest satisfaction through proper food and beverage service and presentation.
Responsibilities include:
- Execute private banquets and club events; act as lead server during service.
- Setup & Breakdown of banquets and assuring proper inventory of banquet supplies for resets.
- Regularly inspects service areas to guarantee standards for cleanliness are met and side work is complete each day.
- Training and development of new banquet team members.
- Approach all encounters with members, guests, and employees in a friendly and serviceoriented manner.
- Inspect the setup of banquets, checking them against the banquet event order to ensure setups are correct.
- Respond to guests' requests and complaints, communicate problems/issues to the Manager On Duty.
- Be familiar with, abide by and ensure all Standard Operating Procedures for the Food and Beverage Department are met.
- Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by Food & Beverage Manager and Clubhouse Manager.

About the Club:
The Union Club of Boston is a private, member-owned city club. The club is conveniently located between the Massachusetts State House and Park Street T Station.
We provide food and beverage service to our members and private functions five days a week, with a handful of weekend events each year.
Hours:
Varies depending on business; The Club's regular Food and Beverage operating hours are typically Monday 7:00am-3:00pm, Tuesday-Friday 7:00am-10:00pm. The club is closed for dinner on Monday nights and majority of weekends (5-10 weekend events required as necessary).
Qualifications:
Applicants should be familiar with food service and hospitality procedures. He/she/they must be able to learn prescribed methods of reading banquet events orders and standard setups of functions. Carrying trays, setting tables, cleaning dining areas, lifting, and moving furniture is required. Must be able to work rapidly during rush periods.
Skills:
- Proven restaurant or function serving experience
- Private Club experience a plus but not required

- Must be able to multitask
