The University of Miami/UHealth has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Vice President, MSOM Administration.

The Associate Vice President reports directly to the Dean on a wide variety of executive duties, and initiatives, and assumes responsibility for developing and implementing strategic plans and objectives regarding the MSOM operations as a senior executive liaison to the faculty and staff.

VP, MSOM Administration oversees MSOM budget operations, capital projects, annual events, and performance metrics toward our strategic goals; collaborates to improve HR and Finance business processes; forecasts/analyze the school's various revenue streams, and ensures MSOM goals are achieved, and that faculty and staff thrive.


  • Provides operational direction in support of the Miller School of Medicine's missions and goals.
  • Oversees all administrative functions including business management, human resources and personnel administration, information technology, communications, and facility management.
  • Develops long-range financial plans, including, but not limited to, revenue forecasting and analysis for tuition, gifts, grants, and other revenue streams
  • Manages annual expense operating budget by department/office, program/center, and account, suggesting allocation of resources.
  • Oversees the creation of monthly operational reports, performs variance analysis, and monitors actuals compared with projections.
  • Directs the development of strategic projections and analyzes the fiscal impact of proposals for new activities.
  • Oversees MSOM Budget operations, resolves complex operational issues, and provides guidance and expertise to faculty and staff. Coordinates use of funds in operations, ensuring compliance with terms and annual audit review
  • Leads key constituents to resolve complex operational issues and push forward operational and strategic priorities in support of MSOM goals.
  • Oversees MSOM operational policy development and implementation in partnership with the Dean and the Senior Cabinet leaders.
  • Serves as the AAMC Principal Officer and sends official correspondence on behalf of the Miller School to the LCME and AAMC.
  • Demonstrates judgment and diplomacy in working with diverse groups to address complex issues.
  • Develops and refines the necessary level of support services needed for continued success and strategic growth which may involve workforce planning and team building.
  • Directs and manages MSOM capital projects and assists the MSOM annual events as assigned by the Dean. Fosters effective partnerships across disparate groups to organize and facilitate decisions and ensure implementation.
  • Monitors MSOM performance measurements in accordance with the strategic plan.
  • Ensures internal control oversight and compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with university policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Creates an effective control environment, conducts risk assessment, implements, and monitors controls.

Education:Master's degree in relevant field


Experience:

Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, and a distinguished record of leadership accomplishments and excellence in administration
