Dean of Students staff serve students through programs, events, resources, and services built around student support, student involvement, and student conduct.

Our services also include Student Governance Organizations. Dean of Students is one of eight departments in the Division of Student Affairs.

Purpose

Serve as a Coordinator on the Organizational Development and Risk Reduction team.

Primary responsibilities for this role will include implementing programs, trainings, and resources that promote student organization development, safety and risk management, and hazing prevention efforts for all registered and sponsored student organizations at the University of Texas at Austin.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead campuswide hazing prevention efforts for the institution including but not limited to executing programming/events, developing curriculum and new initiatives, evaluation, promotions, and student and stakeholder engagement.
  • Coordinate risk management and safety programming for all student organizations, including but not limited to the implementation, evaluation, and administration of the peerled required safety education program.
  • Assist with the overall administration of the Successful Student Organization Program including but not limited to organizational coaching, administrative tracking, and more.
  • Supervise, recruit, train, and evaluate graduate assistants and undergraduate student employees.
  • Collaborate and provide content area expertise on hazing prevention and student organization risk management for student groups, campus units, and community partners. Including but not limited to providing trainings, consultations on programming, resource development, and more.
  • Chair and/or participate on Office of the Dean of Students committees; represent the office of the dean of students on Division of Student Affairs committees, task forces, campus orientations, resource fairs, and requested speaking engagements.
Required Qualifications


Bachelor's degree and three years recent experience developing, administering, and evaluating student programs in an educational or professional staff training setting, or a master's degree and one year of experience.

Professional demeanor. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Experience advising college student organizations. _Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate._

Preferred Qualifications


Bachelor's degree and more than the minimum required amount of experience or master's degree in higher education, student affairs, educational leadership, public health, or a related field and at least one-year post-degree experience.

Experience advising sorority and fraternity life organizations or high-risk student groups. Experience with risk management and safety education programming, including hazing prevention. Experience managing peer education teams and coalitions. Possess effective facilitation skills. Demonstrated, end-to-end project/program management experience. Curriculum development and implementation experience.

Salary Range

$58,750 non-negotiable


Working Conditions- Standard office environment- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation- Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
