About Optima
Prior Authorization Specialist Responsibilities:
- Request, prepare and submit proper documentation to establish prior authorization for necessary medical services.
- Prioritize authorization request according to urgency.
- Submit appeals for denied authorizations.
- Verify accuracy of CPT and ICD 10 diagnoses used in patients' medical charting.
- Correspond with patients to discuss authorization status.
Prior Authorization Specialist Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1yr working experience in administrative role.
- Knowledge of prior authorization process/familiarity with various medical insurances.
- Previous experience working in primary care highly favorable.
- 1yr experience working with an EMR system.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and timemanagement skills
- Positive attitude that promotes teamwork and comradery
