    Overview

    Under the direct supervision of the Medical Director and in collaboration with the Public Programs leadership, the Behavioral Health Specialist (Licensed Therapist) provides individual and group psychotherapy and Psychoeducational services to patients of Men's Health Foundation and Southern California Men's Medical Group.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities
    • Maintain an active caseload, including providing comprehensive assessments, charting progress notes and all documentation per service and contractual requirements.
    • Provides comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment for clients.
    • Provides individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based psychotherapy interventions, and case management as needed.
    • Provides short – and long-term psychotherapy, as well as crisis intervention, for clients as needed.
    • Refer clients for psychiatric evaluation and treatment when clinically indicated.
    • Collaborate with the client's health care team to facilitate continuity of care.
    • Provide appropriate referrals to ancillary programs as needed.
    • Develop educational resources for mental health and support group curricula.
    • Document client interactions, collect tracking data, and prepare monthly reports on relevant program outcomes.
    • Represent Men's Health Foundation at community events and meetings to recruit clients, identify resources, and build partnerships.
    • Collaborate with Public Programs team members to create and execute recruitment and enrollment strategies and benchmarks to ensure enrollment goals per program.
    • Participate in program and organizational meetings and activities.
    • Supervise internship placements as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications

    Be licensed to provide mental health services in the state of California as either a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT); and have at least two years of experience post-licensure.
    • Knowledge of community resources and the ability to assess client/family psychosocial needs.
    • Two years of experience in a non-profit work environment providing direct client services.
    • Command of various treatment modalities, including trauma-informed care, Cognitive Behavioral Interventions, and Crisis Intervention.
    • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Bilingual English/Spanish.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Commitment to working as part of a diverse, multi-disciplinary team.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
    Language Skills

    Must be able to read, write and speak the English language fluently. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public in person.

    Mathematical Skills
    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as dollar totals, monetary conversions, discounts, interest, fractions, decimals, percentages, area, and volume.

    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to solve technical and practical problems and deal with various intangibles in situations where only limited communication, support, information, and access exist. Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Computer Skills:

    Must have good computer skills and be proficient in the use of systems to complete correspondence, documents, spreadsheets and presentations, such as Microsoft Outlook and Office; Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
