OVERALL DESCRIPTION:


The Operations Administrator is responsible for supporting the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of software systems that support SEPTA's Transit Asset Management Program.

These systems facilitate the reporting of asset maintenance, condition assessments, and performance data.

The Operations Administrator works closely with end users across the Authority to ensure proper use of the software as well as to ensure proper system configuration.

Job duties will include administrative and technical support for all users of asset management systems and facilitating the change management related to adopting new systems and technology.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Ensures the integrity of data in SEPTA's asset management systems. Activities would include asset record setup and maintenance, inspection, and maintenance protocol configuration, and managing reports.
  • Administers a help desk for SEPTA's asset management systems.
  • Assists the Department with performance monitoring and system utilization reports.
  • Works directly with staff of the Quality and Project Control departments to ensure that asset record data transfer procedures are followed.
  • Assists with user acceptance testing of new or modified workflows in asset management systems.
  • Works directly with the Information Technology Department on all asset management system related technical issues including interfaces and back-office systems.
  • Supports the Department in the improvement and evolution of existing capital program systems.
  • Complies with all Authority and departmental safety and security policies and procedures as well as all applicable job safety responsibilities. Reports any safety concerns, compromises or hazards affecting operations, the public self and/or other employees. Responsible for personal safety and encouraged to promote the safety of others.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Finance, or related field from an accredited institution and a minimum two (2) years' experience in database implementation, system administration, or data analysis required.
  • Working knowledge of applicable information systems, report writing software and applicable professional principles required.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and written communication skills required.
  • Proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Office required.
  • Valid Drivers' License required.
