***: The
Chart Capture Representative is responsible for timely retrieving demographic and/or medical record information for billing, auditing, or charge capture purposes and for following the Policies and Procedures of the Chart Capture Department and TeamHealth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Chart Capture Representative is responsible for reviewing the completeness of face sheets (demographics) or medical records to ensure the documents meet the request submitted for pursuit.
- Responsible for timely processing of all received documents within 2448 hours of receipt.
- Is expected to follow up on pending medical records or face sheet requests depending on the task/ area assigned.
- Must document accurately and timely all pursuit attempts.
- Responsible for reporting trends and errors encountered when completing daily tasks.
- Responsible for maintaining all access granted to systems and tools required to complete job functions.
- Must ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, including HIPAA.
- Will assume tasks, duties, and responsibilities as assigned by the Management Team.
- Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with the facility and operational contacts.
- Must meet all production and quality standards.
Job Requirements:
Skills:
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
- Ability to work with speed and accuracy.
- Detail orientated.
EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE:
- A High School Diploma is required.
- At least one to two years of experience in a medical field that requires an understanding of patient registration and/ or medical records.
- Some college coursework in Business Administration or Computer Science would be a plus.
