Description

The Associate Director, Business Development provides support for the design and delivery of competitive proposals in the Inclusive Market Systems (IMS) portfolio.

Bachelor's degree or higher in international development, agriculture, finance, economics or other relevant field.

Minimum of six (6) years of experience, including overseas work, in international development, business development, or related field.


Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the IMS BD Team to build and manage the pipeline of new business opportunities in the IMS department.
  • Research, analyze, and plan for new funding opportunities, competitive intelligence, and ACDI/VOCA's competitive positioning on a continuous basis within the marketplace in collaboration with the IMS and Resilience & Growth (R&G), Technical Learning and Application (TLA), and Business Development Group (BDG) departments.
  • Manage proposal teams as Proposal Manager, Proposal Writer or Proposal Lead and contribute to the development process for multiple bids, depending on bid size, complexity, and strategic value.
  • Support effective internal communication and information management processes to ensure access and use of business development information by relevant Headquarters and fieldbased stakeholders.
  • Provide proactive, timely ongoing support and advice to IMS proposal teams during proposal development, and collaborate with staff to develop, implement, and monitor country program resource capture strategies.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with current and potential partners and donors and participate in professional organizations to raise the profile of ACDI/VOCA and identify strategic partnering opportunities.
  • Serve as contributing writer on proposals and lead responses to Requests for Information.
  • Identify project tools that can be incorporated into proposals and/or business development processes; collaborate with TLA, Staff Learning and Development, and others as appropriate to establish technical core materials, information resources and trainings.
  • Lead the IMS team through business development strategy and prioritization exercises, working closely with the Senior Director of Business Development and IMS Department Head.
  • Support business development skill and capacity building to guide and/or lead IMS proposal teams in opportunity analysis, capture planning, proposal preparation, proposal review, and afteraction review.
  • Conduct regular checkins with IMS team members on specific business development opportunities, in collaboration with the Senior Director of Business Development.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in international development, agriculture, finance, economics or other relevant field.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience, including overseas work, in international development, business development, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience and training in USAID proposal development.
  • Fluency in English required, additional language skills highly desired.
  • Demonstrated excellence in oral, written and reading comprehension abilities.
  • Proven organizational skills, with the ability to undertake multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a selfdirected, resultsoriented environment at a fast pace.
  • Able to work effectively with a team.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally required; must be fully vaccinated against COVID1
  • Must be available during core business hours and/or operating hours for international time differences; flexibility to work more hours when needed.
  • Flexibility to work in office based on work demands.
  • Must adhere to our company's Health Safety Code of Conduct, fully vaccinated against COVID19, or receive approved exception.

Pay:
$76, $113,988.00 per year
