Shift: 5 AM-5 PM alternating days (7 DAYS - 12 HR shifts every two weeks - Work Mon/Tuesday - Friday/Sat/Sun following week Wednesday/Thursday)
Overview:
Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates, and adjusts electrical, controls, and systems-related equipment used in production and utility areas. Assists in general plant equipment maintenance, including training other maintenance or production personnel. Must be able to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Under general supervision, the Utilities Maintenance Technician performs a variety of routine or skilled preventive maintenance duties in the repair, alteration, and modification of buildings, equipment, and facilities. Reports more serious problems to utilities engineer for instructions or maintenance scheduling.
- Proficient in operating, troubleshooting, installation, and repair of electrical systems such as boilers, chillers, air compressors, cooling towers, pumps, HVAC systems, and more.
- Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and makes adjustments to mechanical power transmission components and systems according to engineering drawings and manuals.
- Installs, corrects malfunctions, and modifies electronic/electric control systems and equipment.
- Performs preventive maintenance tasks, including lubrication of equipment and machinery.
- Utilizes welding techniques for equipment installation and repair.
- Documents maintenance activities using CMMS software to build a maintenance record for future troubleshooting.
- Collaborates with engineers to enhance equipment performance.
- Completes various maintenance work orders as per requirements.
- Adheres to FDA regulations and completes all necessary training.
- Follows safety protocols and wears required personal protective equipment.
- Prioritizes safety and uses appropriate fall protection equipment when needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HVAC technician
- Associate of Arts Degree in Engineering or technical disciplines
- Building Automation System experience, preferably with Johnson Controls Metasys
- EPA Stationary Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician Certification
