- Oversees clinical operations of the clinics and ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies.
- Supervises all clinical staff to include training, orientation, performance assessment/evaluation, and assignment of work.
- Troubleshoots clinical issues and implements corrective action plans in a timely manner.
- Coordinates continuing education and in-services for staff, delegating as necessary.
- Ensures clinical staffing levels meet the demands of the clinics.
- Covers in all clinical areas, in staffing, as needed to include medication administration, IV starts and port access.
- Delegates responsibilities and duties to personnel.
- Works closely with team members in identifying performance opportunities related to clinical and nursing practice, patient safety, patient satisfaction, and workflows. Utilizes QI methodology with improvement efforts.
- Assists in development and maintenance of clinical policies and procedures.
- Monitors operating expenses and implements cost-conscious operating initiatives to fulfill budgetary targets.
- Collaborates with leadership in identifying needs of the clinics.
- Partners with Clinic Manager on clinical staff professional development.
- Assists in ordering supplies, instruments, equipment, etc.
- Collaborates with Infection Control, Risk, and Quality in improving clinical processes and ensuring positive outcomes.
- Functions as the Safety Nurse or appropriately delegates this role.
- Ensures clinics are maintained for cleanliness in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Oversees and ensures that all safety measures are implemented to prevent accidents, harm, or injury in any way to patients, personnel, and equipment. Follows through on all safety events to include follow up, assisting with analysis, and corrective actions.
- Responsible for ensuring a Just Culture in the clinics, encourages open reporting of events and near misses.
- Works as a liaison for pharmacy, lab, risk, engineering, and biomed with Childrens National Hospital and Inova.
- Audits clinical charts.

- Registered Nurse
- Minimum of one-year supervisory experience in a health care facility, preferably in an outpatient setting.
- Minimum of three years clinical experience.
- Requires working knowledge of state and federal regulations and requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Possesses self-initiative, creativity, and motivation.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot conflicts.
- Ability to work with the management team.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Current BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.
- All employees must pass an employment TB, drug and physical exam.
- One-year clinical experience in pediatric environment preferred.
- BSN preferred.
- CPON or CPHON Certification
- Pediatric Hem / ONC experience
- APHON Chemotherapy / Biotherapy Provider certification

PSV has an exciting employment opportunity for an experienced Clinical Nurse Supervisor to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals This specific role will be supporting our Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders in our Fairfax, VA location. This role is full-time, working Monday - Friday 40 hrs./week.
The Clinical Supervisor, under the direction of the Manager of Quality and Clinical Services and Medical Director of Hematology Oncology, plans, organizes, and directs patient care on a daily basis. The Clinical Supervisor functions within the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the organization.
