Emergency Room RN Job Details

• Location: Ithaca, NY 14850 – Located in the Finger Lakes, Ithaca is known for its natural beauty, top-rated restaurants, and lively arts and culture scene.
• Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department (21 monitored beds, 5 psych safe rooms, 3+ hall beds)
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract (potential for permanent placement)
• Start Date: December 16, 2024
• End Date: March 17, 2025
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (3 shifts per week)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2080 - $2220
• Employment Type: Travel RN job

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department RN experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• CPI, NIHSS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications preferred
• Excellent communication, conflict resolution, time management, and organizational skills
• Ability to float to Med/Surg or ICU as needed

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care and family support within the full RN scope of practice
• Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate emergency patient care programs and services
• Collect and assess patient data, plan individualized care, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Coordinate patient flow and staff assignments as Charge Nurse in the Emergency Department
• Receive pre-arrival EMS reports and coordinate with triage and house supervisors
• Collaborate with ward clerks, provider staff, ED techs, RNs, and crisis evaluators
• Maintain a safe, efficient, and patient-centered environment in a high-acuity emergency setting
