Camden, NJ Days:
Monday through Thursday from 9am

  • 1pm, total of 16 hours per week:
  • Content areas: ELA; Grades 3rd, 4th, 5th (possibly 2nd)
  • Paid training (tentatively June 24).

BASIC FUNCTION
The New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc. provides high-dosage tutoring for pre-K through Grade 8 students in math and literacy to close learning gaps. Tutoring will be embedded in established networks of community-based organizations in high-need communities and Local Education Agencies (LEA).

The New Jersey Tutoring Corps is seeking to hire Site Coordinators to oversee the site logistics and tutor performance during its school year program.

Site Coordinators will each be responsible for overseeing work at one site. Site Coordinators will be required to be on-site on days in which tutoring occurs.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Works with the school's administrator to develop strong relationships with the site staff and community;
  • Ensures that tutors have the necessary materials needed to help scholars succeed;
  • Completes and submits digital records of tutor and scholar attendance, scholar rosters, and site concerns;
  • Works closely with program staff and participates in weekly meetings with other site coordinators;
  • Manages the tutor's work schedules;
  • Apprises the NJTC Program Manager of staff of issues immediately and helps work to resolve them;
  • Works with an instructional coach assigned to the site to review tutor performance and provide guidance as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • New Jersey Certification of Criminal History (fingerprint form)
  • Past history of overseeing the work of others
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and proven ability of conflict resolution skills; Employer Qualifications:
  • Final offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and employment authorization verification;
  • Must adhere to local health department and school district requirements for the site at which you are working, including any mask rules that must be followed if applicable Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and writing skills;
  • BS or MS in education;
  • Experience as a paraprofessional, substitute teacher, teacher, and community member who works with children
