As a Five Below leader, your priority is to contribute to the success of your store.
This means that you not only deliver in your role as the Assistant Store Manager, but you also demonstrate company values by maintaining positive peer/team relationships and deliver as a manager on duty.
As the Manager on Duty, you deliver results during your assigned time, drive key performance indicators, and brand loyalty by leading through your team.

Partners with General Manager regarding store issues, concerns and recognition.
Manages proper communication and interaction with associates and customers, including stressful or unpleasant situations
In partnership with General Manager and Front-End Manager, analyze TruRating scores, zone sheet, daily store checklist, world recovery to identify opportunities to teach, train, and recognize customer engagement behaviors.
Uses financial reporting to drive business and sales opportunities and control expenses.
In partnership with the General Manager, identifies shrink opportunities and drills down to identify root cause. Develop plan of action to reduce shrink and own the ACO.
Responsible for opening and closing store procedures, including cash handling procedures and preparing bank deposits.
Ensures Merchandise Movement Process is flawlessly executed.
In partnership with the General Manager, lead the store process to recruit new associates.
Partners with the General Manager for the scheduling process to ensure the store staffing levels meet expectations.
Assists with the payroll process to ensure the labor budget is in line with plan. Ensures missed punches and weekly payroll approved on time.
Drives Five Below services (ear piercing, balloons, etc.)
Sets and maintains Market Plans, Signage, Hot Sheets and What's on the Way. Ensures the merchandising procedures are being executed timely.
Ensures the execution of company Inventory Integrity process.
Performs store maintenance including taking out garbage, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, and maintaining stock room.
Complies with Human Resources policies and procedures and leads Asset Protection and Safety processes and holds associates accountable.
In the absence of the General Manager, provide direction and communication to Front-End Manager, part-time Support Leads and Sales Associates.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Graduate or equivalent
College experience preferred
Minimum 2 years of management experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Essential Job Functions:
Frequently operate cash register - must be able to count cash
Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and places/removes merchandise up to a height of 5-10 feet
Frequently ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock
Frequently position self to kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor
Frequently communicate and exchange information with customers on the telephone and face-to-face in the store, as well as with managers and coworkers.
Must be able to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time
