    Job Description

    Network Engineer – Sr – Design & Deployment

    The Network Engineer – Sr – Design & Deployment will lead surveys, assessments, and designs for replacement network components, end point devices, equipment, and software in execution of customer IT life-cycle management plans. Design and deployment efforts include configuration, implementation, technical documentation, and follow-up support. Planning also includes capacity management and load balancing analysis to ensure workload requirements are efficiently met. Assists in maintaining and updating customer's Approved Products List (APL) and Approved Software List (ASL).

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or a combination of technical training, certifications, and 8+ years of experience
    • 5+ years of network design, deployment, and operation desired
    • CCNA/CCNP, MSCS or other related certifications or specialty experience
    • Security+ CE (or appropriate DoDM 8570 Baseline Certification)
    • IAT Level II certification is required before start

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct surveys at current and future locations to support agency network infrastructure
    • Inventory and validate agency's current and future network devices and topologies
    • Design and install architecture for network requirements and provide for present and future needs
    • Configure, install, test, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices
    • Ensure network systems comply with open systems architectures and standards
    • Assess and resolve problems related to workflows, organization, and planning
    • Provide support documentation and tools to team members
    • Attend work regularly and be available to support the team as needed
    • Other duties as assigned by management

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Understanding of structured cabling and installation standards
    • Experience with network security practices
    • Designing and deploying various network protocols and technologies
    • Ability to configure, install, test, and troubleshoot network devices
    • Knowledge of network troubleshooting techniques and tools
    • Ability to review and develop network diagrams
    • Ability to assess, document, and mitigate risks
    • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other applications
    • Ability to organize and facilitate planning and demonstrations
    • Track, manage, and ensure projects stay on track

    Desirable Technical Knowledge

    • Cisco Switch Series, Nexus Series, and Catalyst 9000 Series
    • Cisco Router Series and ISR 4000 Series
    • Palo Alto Firewalls
    • Various network protocols and technologies
    • Experience with network devices and systems
    • Familiarity with IT frameworks and security practices
    • Experience with system upgrades and security patches
    • WAN optimization and load balancing experience

    Clearance/Citizenship:

    • TS/SCI
    • Must be US Citizen

    Travel Requirements:

    Up to 20% travel may be required
