    POSITION OVERVIEW
    The

    Manager – Demand Planning + Procurement

    is responsible for all forecasting activities associated with suppliers, products, and customers.

    The role creates and maintains forecast models for products, cleanses demand history, and incorporates business intelligence from sales, portfolio managers, and valid industry data sources.


    The successful candidate will be responsible for building relationships with co-manufacturers, managing and coordinating product demand forecasting, procurement of plant-level components, and inventory control to ensure that product availability aligns with customer demands while optimizing costs.

    Currently, 95% of products are co-manufactured.
    The ideal candidate will be based in Louisville, KY or the surrounding area.

    Open to all candidates within a 4-hour driving radius who can easily get to the Louisville plant for monthly visits.

    When not visiting the plant or traveling, this is a remote / work from home role.

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Create statistical forecasts:
    Gather, analyze, and validate data. SME for statistical modeling software. Review resulting statistical forecast model using MAPE KPI's. Apply analysis techniques to improve forecasting.
    Summarize/aggregate statistical forecasts for ELT and measure OTIF scorecard.
    Review demand plans with key stakeholders, Sales, Ops, and Marketing.
    Minimize obsolescence and manage DOH to right size ELT objectives for sales & operations.
    Recommend adjustments for plant leadership. Review promotional plans with sales/marketing.
    Manage all procurement activities, including tactical/strategic sourcing best practices, vendor selection, MOQ's and negotiation. Develop and support excellent supplier relationships and 3PL continuous improvement activities.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams (scheduling, customer services, sales, marketing, production, finance) to adjust forecast and procurement plans based on sales promotions, new product launches, and other activities.

    Regularly monitor, report, and respond to changes in demand and market trends.
    Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to drive continuous improvement.
    Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to ensure product and component availability, minimize lead time, and reduce out-of-stock occurrences.
    Develop and maintain best practices as it relates to Inventory (finished goods and component) procedures.
    Communicate forecast confidence, including risks and opportunities to Sales, Marketing, and operations leadership.
    Handle basic component buying aligned with production needs.

    REQUIRED SKILL SETS:
    Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

    Minimum 3 years of experience in demand planning, inventory, procurement, or supply chain roles in a manufacturing environment, ideally in the food and beverage industry.

    Strong knowledge of forecasting methodologies
    Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful vendor management.
    Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
    Excellent communication and leadership skills.
    Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
    Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as customer service skills

    PREFERRED SKILL SETS:
    APICS or other relevant certification.
    LEAN and/or SIX SIGMA certification.
