Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop project plans; coordinate projects (scheduling and tracking); communicate changes and progress; complete projects on time and budget; manage project team activities
  • Recruit and manage subcontractors
  • Cost Consciousness is a MUST
  • Work within approved budget; Develop and implement cost saving measures; Contribute to profits and revenue; Conserve organizational resources (Manage budget to align with goals of business)
  • Oversee the Installs and/or and relocates of aerial and underground cable including OSP fiber optic; ensure that it meets industry standards, is technically reliable and performed in timely and costefficient manner
  • Mentor and manage the productivity of multiple directional drill crews, mini crews and vac crews; provide direction and support for crews during all phases of construction activity
  • Direct the performance of the Construction craft personnel on all duties according to prescribed safety procedures up to and including the uses of the appropriate safety equipment for the construction of aerial and underground
  • Ensure company policies, OSHA standards and Municipal Ordinances are adhered to; Ensure regulatory, compliance and legal rules are followed
Qualifications & Skills

  • Safety Oriented
  • Knowledge of underground construction, aerial construction and OSP fiber optic construction methods
  • Must have relationships with subcontractors and the ability to immediately bring subcontractors to the market
  • Must have proven experience with OSP aerial fiber optic cable construction
  • Knowledge and understanding of directional drill locater (hands on experience preferred)
  • Knowledge and understanding of bore chemical mixture requirements and soil conditions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; must speak the English language fluently and clearly; Bilingual preferred (NOT A MUST)
  • Listens and is able to communicate effectively with coworkers, customers, ROW Inspectors and the general public
  • Strong ability to multitask
  • Comfort working with multiple groups within business
  • Current valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (CDL preferred)
  • This position requires significant time walking on uneven ground. Must be able to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Work in an all weather environment and be willing to travel as required.
