Job Summary
The Catering Director will be responsible for modeling and promoting Sendik's culture by supporting those who consistently provide "best in class" service to our guests.
The Catering Director is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing the Special Events Catering Department.As a part of the Sendik's leadership team, the Catering Director must demonstrate accountability, strong team management skills and hands-on involvement, both in the store and with the team.

Duties/Responsibilities
Serve customers, associates, vendors and partners while modeling Sendik's culture and providing "best in class" customer service; Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and partners
Proactively identify opportunities to upsell services and enhance the overall client experience.
Actively build and foster consumer interest in Special Events Catering by increasing exposure to the program, including, but not limited to networking, sales and promotional events
Oversee the Special Events Catering Department, including, but not limited to customer service, proposal negotiations, billing, package design, production and customer satisfaction
Support the sales team in client presentations, proposals, and pitches to secure new business
Oversee and facilitate staffing as it relates to catering events, including, but not limited to, production staff schedules, materials and set up
Maintain weekly financials for Special Events, such as, proposals, deposits and timesheets, while confirming all reports are accurate prior to delivering to Finance Department
Collaborate with Marketing for creation of promotional materials as it relates to Special Events catering
Maintain knowledge of on-trend items, strategic initiatives and competitive landscapes
Develop and manage budgets for events, ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness.
Assist with overseeing store-level production in the Deli Department to ensure all deli production meets company standards
Work with Deli Departments to ensure safety and sanitation standards are consistently met by demonstrating a commitment to safety and sanitation by serving as an example and providing direction
Assist with developing and implementing innovative standards for our Deli Departments store-wide
Mentor and develop top Deli talent within the stores to begin to develop a Special Events Catering team
Weekly travel to various store locations to visit Deli departments, interact with associates and assist with department duties as needed
Assist with Deli Production in the Warehouse Commissary or in stores as needed
Assist in the stores during peak holiday seasons as needed
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED equivalent is required
Proven experience (minimum of 5 years) in catering and event management, with a successful track record of executing diverse events
Must have extensive prior experience within the restaurant and catering industry
Must be Servsafe certified
Strong knowledge of local and state health, sanitation and safety regulations and codes
