Duties:

If you are selected at the GS-13 level, you will perform the following duties:

  • Develop procedures, criteria and standards for use in evaluating the biomedical training and educational programs and conduct surveys to evaluate program effectiveness in relation to the needs of the organization.
  • Serve as an advisor to management and staff in the planning, development, presentation, and evaluation of complex translational research training and education programs.
  • Perform studies and analyses to support research and training in studies and analyses of aging biology, geriatrics, genetics, genomics, and populations studies.
  • Design, develop and coordinate biomedical training and curriculum development activities with other federal, state, and local public and private organizations, colleges and universities, and the local public.
  • Participates in the ongoing marketing of the scientific programs and participates in the scientific research career opportunities programs at various colleges and universities, giving presentations on these biomedical research training opportunities.


If you are selected at the GS-12 level, you will essentially perform the same duties as those at the full performance level, described above, however, duties may be less complex and may be performed under closer supervision or with more detailed guidance.

Qualifications:


Minimum Education Requirement:


You must possess a Bachelor's degree, or graduate/higher level degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of this position.

(This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained).

Additional Qualifications:


You qualify at the GS-12 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements:

  • You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: Providing advice and guidance on the planning and management of scientific research programs related to genomics, genetics, neuroscience, epidemiology, population studies, and/or Alzheimer's disease; reviewing the development of guidance for the scientific research studies and projects; and drafting reports and documents on scientific research projects.

You qualify at the GS-13 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements:

  • You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: providing scientific and technical support for the planning and management of scientific research programs and initiatives related to genomics, genetics, neuroscience, epidemiology, population studies, and/or Alzheimer's disease; providing guidance to research teams in completing scientific research studies and projects; collaborating on scientific research program activities; and preparing final reports and documents on scientific research projects and data for review by senior leadership.
  • You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
