    Description

We're Hiring: Associate Attorney at Trister, Ross, Schadler & Gold, PLLC

Trister, Ross, Schadler & Gold, PLLC is seeking an associate attorney to join our employment law practice group, focusing on providing advice to progressive non-profit organizations on various employment law matters. At TRSG, we are driven by core principles like social justice and fairness, aiming to empower our clients to leverage the law effectively in achieving their objectives. Our team takes pride in serving a diverse clientele, ranging from national nonprofits and unions to individuals in different sectors, with a keen understanding of the unique nature of non-profit organizations. We are committed to delivering personalized and efficient legal representation to help our clients navigate legal complexities.

We are on the lookout for a legal professional with minimum three (3) years of experience in employment law. The key responsibilities for this role include:

    • Providing guidance to non-profits on employment law compliance encompassing areas such as personnel management, anti-discrimination laws, wage and hour regulations, etc.
    • Developing and updating employee handbooks.
    • Conducting workplace investigations.
    • Representing nonprofits during investigations by relevant authorities.
    • Staying abreast of employment law changes and ensuring clients are informed and compliant.
    • Preparing employment contracts and participating in settlement negotiations.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional academic credentials, strong communication skills, and Bar admission in D.C. or eligibility for reciprocity. Experience in nonprofit law, labor unions, or political campaigns, coupled with a dedication to advancing nonprofit causes, is highly desirable. While the role predominantly involves advising nonprofit employers, litigation experience is advantageous. The successful candidate should exhibit a collaborative spirit and adeptness in managing multiple projects concurrently within the realm of employment law.

While a location in Washington, D.C. is preferred, remote work arrangements are considered. Attorneys near our D.C. office in Dupont Circle follow a hybrid work model (~1 day/week in-office). Remuneration ranges from $120K to $160K annually, complemented by performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, inclusive of health coverage, retirement benefits, and flexible spending accounts.

At Trister, Ross, Schadler & Gold, PLLC, we prioritize diversity and equal employment opportunities, fostering an inclusive workplace. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds and identities, irrespective of characteristics protected by law.
