- Know and support the philosophy, goals and objectives of the Nursing Department and Deer Meadows Retirement Community as a whole.
- Collaborate, communicate and cooperate with other health care providers to ensure quality care, including transcribing physician's orders according to facility procedures.
- Continually observe/monitor and evaluate quality, quantity and timeliness of nursing care.
- Consult with supervisors and doctors to decide on best treatment plan for residents.
- Observe and record patient behavior.
- Collect patient health history.
- Counsel and educate patients and their families on treatment plans.
- Administer medication, change wound dressings, and care for various medical needs based on treatment plans.
Essential Requirements:
- Must be a graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the PA State Board of Nurse Examiners.
- Must currently be licensed as a Registered Nurse by the PA State Board of Nurse Examiners.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing, medical practices and procedures.
- Knowledgeable of all legal regulations, guidelines and best practices that pertain to longterm care.
- Possess leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Time management skills.
- Aptitude for problem solving.
