    Engineering Team Leader

    Based in Clay Cross

    Reporting into Engineering Manager

    About the role

    As an Engineering Leader you will be responsible for the day to day leadership of circa 13 engineering technicians and are expected to continually develop an environment that promotes constructive involvement and engagement for the Engineering team, you will work closely with the engineering technicians to ensure proactive, preventative and predictive maintenance is carried out.

    You will be required to manage and supervise all engineering activities processed and developed within the Work Management process.

    You will be a key leader in the ongoing development and management of the Asset Care programme by effective engagement with the Engineering team to meet output requirements, quality expectations and cost targets.

    You will work in collaboration with the Planner/Scheduler and Reliability Engineer to identify and rectify issues whilst Improving the standards of the department and maintaining high standards within Environment, Health & Safety, Housekeeping, Performance, Waste, Communication and Continuous Improvement.

    You will support the Engineering Manager to deliver the Key Objectives and KPIs for Operations and be the lead for site projects.

    You will direct the engineering team to ensure the Work Management process phases of execution and completion are fulfilled including compliance with standard work instructions, accurate and detailed data capture e.g.

    actual time, materials, cause and effect coding and technical feedback. You will liaise with the team to ensure effective communication within the Engineering Department and also with internal customers.

    To be successful in the role you will be a safety conscious individual who prioritises the safety of yourself and your colleagues and that work is completed according to company and legislative standards, to the required quality and workmanship in the time allotted.


    About you
    *Minimum requirements:
    • BTEC Level 3 (ONC) in an Engineering discipline
    • 3-5 years experience in engineering production support
    • Significant leadership experience
    • The ability to demonstrate how our corporate values will be applied in the workplace: Caring, Challenging, Trusted, Responsive & Tenacious
    • Ability to make decisions in a pressurized environment with a proven track record of performing at a high level in a fast-paced Customer Service & Commercial environment
    *Preferred requirements:
    • ONC/HNC level qualification in an engineering discipline
    • Knowledge of manufacturing environment and continuous improvement of tools and techniques
    • Experience of leading a team/people management skills
    • Working knowleddge of SAP systems
