Trainee on 1st shift, long term on 2nd shift1st shift: 6am to 2:30pm
2nd shift: 3pm to 11:30pm
DESCRIPTION:
This position will be responsible for maintaining production equipment enabling safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. Additional responsibilities of maintaining building and property are included.
To accomplish this, it will require them to:
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Service, repair, adjust, and test machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical or electronic (PLC) principles.
- Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Repair machines or systems using the needed tools.
- Read and interpret various written instructions - blueprints, schematics, specifications.
PRIMARY ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Maintenance Technician primary responsibilities are:
- Work in a safe and courteous manner treating everyone with dignity and respect. Perform all work safely and identify/resolve safety risks for others.
- Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.
- Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.
- Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists.
- Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information.
- Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
- Set up and operate machines and adjust controls to regulate operations.
- Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.
- Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems.
- Inspect or test damaged machine parts and mark defective areas or advise management of repair needs.
- Schedule and perform preventative maintenance.
- Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies so that stock can be maintained and replenished.
- Perform building/property maintenance that may include repairs, welding, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.
- Develop service contracts to handle repairs beyond internal capabilities.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, quality of product, and efficiencies.
- All other duties will be directed by the management of the company.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in maintenance acquired in hands on experience supporting a production facility.
- Welding certification
- Electrical certification
- Hydraulic, pneumatic, and PNC Control experience.
- Experience repairing CNC and Injection Molding machines.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with internal and external personnel.
- Ability to effectively utilize windowsbased office software.
- Willingness to work in fast paced work environment.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must possess or could obtain a Dynatect forklift license.
