    Description

    Vela Miami, a unique approach to modern cuisine and beverage, seeks professional, friendly, and enthusiastic support staff We are in Miami?s newest Downtown destination, Yotel Miami.

    The Barista is responsible for interacting with the restaurant guests, fellow staff members, and supervisors in a polite, courteous, and hospitable manner to ensure all guests have an exemplary experience, actively takes orders, gives suggestions,


    Major Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Must be an ?out of the box? thinker. Bringing to life the YOTEL Miami Food & Beverage concept.
    • Presents menu, answers question, makes suggestions regarding food and beverage.
    • Greeting customers in a friendly manner and taking food and drink orders
    • Preparing and serving beverages, ranging from simple to elaborate ones
    • Preparing and serving food items such as soups, sandwiches, and pastries
    • Answering customers' questions about menu choices
    • Promoting and recommending menu options to customers
    • Maintaining inventory and equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting and scheduling repairs
    • Keeping the work environment sanitary and organized
    • Evaluating and modifying processes to improve efficiency and quality of service
    • Working to attract new customers and expanding the menu
    • Presents bill to guests ensuring accuracy.
    • Collects payment for all products served verifying signatures for credit card payments.
    • Thoroughly washes and sanitizes all kitchen and restaurant dishes, glassware, utensils and other equipment using a dishwasher or by hand as designated.
    • Wipe down counters, equipment, stools, chairs, tables, and other areas as required.
    • Adherence to all sanitation policies and protocols while embodying YOTEL Beverage & Food concept understanding how his/her actions and execution directly affect the guest experience.
    • Helps to maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant and integrity by completing all duties and special projects as issued by management daily.
    • Maintain food safety and food handling procedures throughout shift.
    • Must adhere to all cash handling policies and procedures as outlined in bank contract.
    • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
    • Attends daily pre-shift meetings and monthly departmental meetings.
    • Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
    • Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
