POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time, Managerial position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Note:

This position is in the "NL" category of employment (non-fixed work week) and have no claim or entitlement to time off or cash compensation for hours worked beyond their normal schedule.

However, unusual requirements for additional work time by these employees may be compensated by allowing roughly comparable amounts of time off, provided prior approval is given by the supervisor and Unit Head.


Job Summary


Under the direction of the Director of Financial Aid, the Assistant Director of Financial Aid is responsible for conducting verification review in accordance with Federal and State regulations.

Reviews, maintains and updates the office of financial aid verification policy and procedures in accordance with Federal and State guidelines.

Reviews and updates the SAP (Standard Academic Progress) policies and procedures in accordance with federal guidelines. Manages and runs the SAP process for Ramapo College. Manages State Grant and scholarship programs. Organizes the data for and transmits the FISAP report.

Provides general counsel to students, parents, faculty and staff regarding State and Federal Financial Aid policies and procedures both in the office and at open house events and off campus events as needed.

  • Supervise the Assistant Director of FA, the 2 FA counselors, and the Data assistant/VA certifying official.
  • Manages the Federal verification process and assigns files to the two verifiers and helps with completing verification files. Maintains and reviews verification policies and procedures and keeps everything up to date in accordance to federal and state guidelines.
  • Counsels students and their families on financial aid issues and is a liaison with faculty and staff.
  • Review TAG rosters to verify that students are in compliance with state regulations. Posts all state awards to student accounts. Compares TAG disbursement reports to college records for accuracy. Makes required adjustments to student accounts. Notifies the State of New Jersey of the Changes.
  • Responsible for running the Garden State grant process for Ramapo College and maintaining the policies and procedures for processing the GSG Grant.
  • Responsible for the certifications of TAG, EOF, and GSG rosters with the state of NJ. Serves as the liaison to the EOF Office in relation to issues with the roster and students selected for state verification.
