Harrison Gray Search has partnered with a leading transportation company to find a Staff Accountant to join their incredible team

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a hard-working and experienced Staff Accountant that will play a pivotal role in their accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial operations within the transportation industry. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The staff accountant will work closely with the senior staff accountant and other members of the accounting team.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Preparing and maintaining financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Assisting with preparation of financial statements and reports, set up and input of data into monthly financials. Review and analyze financial data for accuracy and completeness. Finalize and distribute month-end financials.
Assisting with month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Maintaining fixed asset system, adds, disposals and reconciliation.
Book monthly equipment sales and calculate commissions.
Prepare weekly and biweekly payroll entries.
Assisting with the budgeting and forecasting process.
Assisting with analysis and projects as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Two or more years of experience
Microsoft Office and Excel experience
Experience with Karmak or other ERP Systems is a plus
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Comfortable learning new software and working with various technology tools
Ability to work independently on tasks and collaborate with a team
Strong organizational skills

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift/carry 15lbs.
Must be able to sit and focus on a computer for long periods of time.
