We are looking for a dedicated Market Director of Communications & Community Engagement like you to be a part of our team.

Job Summary and Qualifications


The Market Communications and Community Engagement Director (Market Director) reports directly to the Division AVP, Strategic Communications with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Hospital CEOs in their market and the Division AVP, Community Engagement.

Directs the communications and community engagement efforts of 2 hospitals across the San Jose market, as well as provides marketing support at these facilities.

The Market Director plays a critical role identifying opportunities to scale and streamline communications and community engagement activities across the market, as well as serving as the lead communicator/spokesperson both internally and externally.

Develops annual PR & Communication plans to sync with Division-developed paid media plan for the hospital/market. Drives our community and customer engagement to heighten our positive reputation within the community. Develops organic content (written, web, video) via tight connectivity with key service line leaders and physicians.

Identifies opportunities to leverage this content across the market to create dynamic materials, messaging, events and forums that will positively engage the community to choose this facility.

Measures success of all activities in order to refine and adjust as needed. Operates smoothly in a fast-paced, high-intensity matrix environment.

Serves as an outward facing representative of the hospital and market to the community and in that role keeps current in terms of community needs, issues and opportunities relevant to the organization.


What you will do in this role:
Communications

  • Bridges enterprise brand narrative with market/hospital brand to highlight the value of being part of the broader organization.
  • Assists CEO and other officers with communication needs including messaging related to colleague engagement.
  • Supports development and implementation of the strategic PR and Communications plan to meet organizational needs and support hospital business and growth goals.
  • Proactively develops content to drive engagement across owned, earned and paid media channels. Proactively pitches compelling stories to local media outlets.
  • Manages crisis communications and serves as an oncall public information representative.
  • Stays abreast of hospital news, trends, services and objectives.
  • Acts as a local advocate for the adherence to marketing and communications specific policies in partnership with the Facility Ethics and Compliance Officer.
  • Consistently monitors patient comments and reviews about the hospital and its physicians in order to provide timely response to positive engagements and speedy service recovery for negative comments/reviews.
Community Engagement

  • Serves as a conduit to communicate enterprise, group and division community engagement strategies to facility leadership.
  • Drives engagement programs and activities to heighten our positive reputation within the community.
  • Supports strategy for hospitals Board of Trustees regarding composition and engagement.
  • Identifies meaningful healthcarerelated community engagement activities in the hospital's service area that complement the organization's goals.
  • Supports and coordinates events and programs in coordination with the Division and hospital goals and designed to raise awareness of the submarket's capabilities and strengths.
  • Supports aspects of colleague community engagement, including giving campaigns for the community and our HCA Healthcare Hope
