Assistant Town Accountant/Assistant Finance Director Under administrative direction and direct mentorship of the Finance Director, this division head level position leads and oversees the Accounting Division of the Town's Finance Department.


The Assistant Town Accountant/Assistant Finance Director, in coordination with the Finance Director, establishes and ensures sound financial management practices and serves as an accounting and financial advisor internally for other departments.

The position maintains financial records and charts of accounts, is responsible for periodic audits, reconciliations and review of expenditures, supervises payroll and accounts payable and provides high level operational support to the Finance Director, including liability and risk management.

Position may also serve as a staff liaison or provide support to advisory or regulatory boards and committees as assigned.

This benefits and pension eligible position is 40 hours per week. Starting annual salary is $80, $84, % Cost of Living Salary Increase scheduled for July 1, 2024. The position is covered under the Chatham Manager's Association. View chatham- for more information and qualifications.

$80, $84,364.80 per year
