Summary:
Responsible for assisting the delivery driver in the transportation of products to customers and unloading/loading of products. The Driver Helper adheres to driver safety/compliance regulations, delivers un-damaged goods on schedule, and provides professional service to customers. On occasion, position will also assist other drivers with the deliveries as act as a helper.


Key responsibilities

• May load or assist with loading and appropriately securing product, materials, or supplies inside delivery vehicle
• Delivers customer orders to specified delivery site. Takes all precautions to protect the product and the customer's property
• Verifies order details and maintains logs of delivery duties including amounts and/or weights of items, mileage and locations of deliveries. Checks items against invoice to ensure order accuracy
• Acts as a customer service liaison between Detering and the site customer. Handles customer concerns and helps resolve issues as they arise
• Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of delivery vehicles; performs routine safety checks to ensure vehicles comply with company guidelines
• Required to use hand held devices, except for while driving, to ensure compliance with DVIR and HOS
• May perform credit/product return pickups and related paperwork
• Maintain hours of service logs and pre/post trip inspection procedures
• Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to self or co

- workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures

• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High school or equivalent
• Experience in transportation of goods is preferred
• 1+ years' driving experience
• Must be willing to work shift and/or overtime hours during the week and/or weekends as dictated by operations
• Must have a valid Driver License
• Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and must also adapt to frequent changes that occur
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds of force frequently and constantly lift, carry, push, pull and move objects
• Ability to drive manual/auto. Both is a plus.

All applicants must be able to pass background check and drug test, and have a reliable transportation.
