Job Description

The paramedic ensures a safe, comfortable, therapeutic environment for patient and families and collaborates

with the care team in contribution to quality outcomes. The paramedic in an Emergency Department setting is an

essential part of the clinical team to help provide efficient and quality care to our patient population. The

paramedic assists in the initial evaluation and workup of the patient by taking vital signs, starting IVs, performing

EKGs, and transporting patients to the appropriate rooms. The paramedic also assists in the general throughput

of the emergency department by providing support to the nurses throughout the department by rounding on

patients and performing all skills within their scope of practice to help our patient population.
