    Pediatric Medical Director opening near Syracuse, NY

    Utica, NY & Rome, NY

    - just 30 miles to Syracuse Full-time, permanent opening Employed position Medical Directorship Competitive compensation and benefitsHealth center is seeking a Medical Director and Primary Care Pediatrician. Position will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the Health Clinics. The Medical Director works collaboratively with the Chief Medical Officer to ensure that medical services at the clinics are developed and managed in accordance with our mission, strategic direction and business position.

    The Medical Director will direct the activities of the medical staff and ensure that services are delivered in accordance with our policies and procedures, New York State regulations and guidelines, and established best practices in school health and adolescent medicine.

    In conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer, the Medical Director will establish, approve, and implement policies related to providing medical services within clinics.


    Job Description:
    Direct Patient Care 80% Primary care pediatrics practice at two Utica and Rome locations Provide coverage of school-based health clinics mid-level practitioners in the event of staff absence Administrative Duties 20% Collaborating with the CMO ensures that the Clinics operate effectively and efficiently and that interdisciplinary services become well-integrated Help to ensure a patient-centric culture in which students in need of service are provided competent, caring and integrated care and where staff feel supported, appreciated, respected and can do their best work, and know how their specific work and the work of others contributes to success Evaluate school health providers performance no less than annually and conduct informal performance evaluation and review of charts on a regular basis In concert with the CMO, develop and implement changes as needed to existing medical care protocols consistent with established school health medical practice standards Implement quality assurance mechanisms and monitor the quality of medical care services Represent providers perspectives in the areas of program development, policies and procedures, and staff development and address difficulties that may arise in providers efforts to perform their job responsibilities Implement and monitor systems to track the timeliness and communication of all specialty referrals Work collaboratively with the Director of Behavioral Health to optimize the provision of mental health services in the school-based health center Requirements:

    Education:
    MD Degree with Board Certification in Pediatrics, preferably with fellowship training in adolescent medicine Minimum of 3 years of combined clinical/administrative experience in school health and primary care Commitment to the mission, vision and approach to ensure a patient-centric culture that is collaborative and multidisciplinary A commitment to working with young people and a work ethic in which a commitment to understanding and solving the needs of each patient is a priority A demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, empathy, compassion and patience Exceptional management skills An accessible, visible and flexible management style that inspires trust and confidence in staff to work hard and well together A multi-tasker with the ability to respond to changing priorities in a fast-pd environment Keen problem-solving skills that enable sound decision-making and support long-term solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
