    Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities:


    Ensure all Mfg Eng Techs perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of Biomerieux's Quality System.

    Provide manufacturing engineering team coordination/resource allocation to maximize efficiencies and ensure all design, development, transfer to production, and sustaining engineering needs are met.

    Manage and train manufacturing engineering teams to follow Biomerieux's design controls.
    Ensure that manufacturing equipment and process meets the needs of production.
    Assist

    Senior Management

    in establishing KPI's and department goals.
    Set and review goals and objectives for all direct reports every 6 months.
    Take corrective actions to mitigate performance gaps.
    Development, maintenance and implementation of engineering WID's that are compliant with Biomerieux's quality system, cGMP, and ISO 13485 requirements.
    Provide team mentoring and technical leadership.
    Communicate progress and needs to department Associate Director and Director.

    Provide constructive feedback to assigned personnel regarding performance, quality requirements, safe work practices, and conduct performance evaluations on a periodic basis.

    Ensure processes produce product that meets quality expectations and specifications.
    Perform data collection, analysis and reporting from various manufacturing processes.
    Plan, organize, and conduct technical projects under limited general supervision.

    Act as project manager by tracking and reporting on schedule, tasks, and deliverables for projects being run by the Mfg Eng Tech team.

    Maintain inventories of maintenance materials, supplies and repair parts that affect equipment downtime to a minimum.

    Participate in the deployment of Lean initiatives, including value streams, improved flow, TPM, 5S, visual factory, SMED, and other Lean tools and principles.

    Comply with all company policies, procedures, and programs.
    Willingness to accept responsibility and accountability. Ability to work under pressure and in stressful situations while maintaining attention to detail.

    Principle Decisions:
    Project/task/equipment resource allocation.
    Evaluate performance of each direct report.
    Continual improvement initiatives


    Education and Training:
    Bachelor of Science degree (engineering or science majors),

    or five years of

    direct leadership of a technical staff supporting the manufacturing

    of medical devices, with an additional 5 years of hands-on experience as a member of a technical support team supporting a large-scale

    medical device manufacturing environment.


    Experience:
    5+ years of hands-on experience as a member of a technical team responsible for maintaining a large-scale production environment

    preferably in a regulated industry.
    5+ years of direct leadership of a technical staff supporting production

    preferably in the medical device industry.
    Strong computer skills, including Microsoft applications, web-based applications, and CMMS software
    E xperience with system monitoring and maintaining automated equipment
    Experience working in other functional support areas (quality, production, supply chain) preferred


    Experience with the following is preferred:Planning/Organizing - Must have the ability to independently and effectively plan, organize, coordinate, and follow-up on assignments.

    Problem Solving – Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations; uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.

    Troubleshooting – Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

    Dependability – Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments; commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.

    Ability to work with other departments to coordinate activities

    Excellent interpersonal/relationship skills; able to communicate effectively with cross functional groups at all levels of the organization, written and oral.

    Comfortable presenting to and communicating with cross-functional groups at multiple levels.
    Proficiency in MS Office applications (Project, Power Point, Outlook, and Excel) is required.

    Physical Requirements :
    Able to safely lift 50 pounds. Must be able to perform duties wearing a Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).

    Minimal travel required.
