As a Senior Engineer, you know that large language models have made it newly possible to solve complex problems.

At Apricot, our mission is to solve problems like this - that are only now able to solved by leveraging LLMs - in the home healthcare industry.

This challenge amps you up because you know that the combination of your previous experience building web apps and your exploration of the latest tech will enable you to get new, transformative tools into the hands of healthcare providers as quickly as possible.

As the first engineering hire at Apricot, you'll be involved with shaping our approach to building these tools; your work will have a real impact on the home healthcare industry all across the country.

Apricot is being launched out of a partnership between Gitwit, a full-service marketing and product company with the complete team to innovate from 0 to 1, and a prominent home health company.

This means you'll work in tandem with a 40+ person team composed of experienced researchers, strategists, technologists, writers, designers, animators, data scientists, and other engineers in order to rapidly build a successful venture.

Our mission is to help nurses spend more time with patients and much less time on paperwork.
We are building a game-changing product for nurses and patients in the home health industry. With approximately 11,500 home health agencies in the U.S. and a continued trend of growth, the opportunities to add value are vast.

Nurses are drawn to home health because they hope to provide high-quality, personalized patient care on a flexible schedule, but they currently spend more than half of their time reviewing, synthesizing, or preparing patient documentation.

The documentation load for home health nurses is higher than that in many other nursing industries, leading to high levels of frustration, burnout, and turnover among home health nurses.

Our goal is to create a digital product that will assist nurses in reviewing existing patient documentation prior to and then preparing required documentation after a home health visit, with an initial focus on the start-of-care visit.

A solution like this doesn't currently exist, so it could quickly be adopted by a majority of the home health companies in the U.S.

Our product will eliminate the friction and frustration associated with these tasks, allow nurses to complete these tasks in a fraction of the time they are spending now, and result in documentation that is more accurate, complete, and billable.

Instead of the clunkiness of typical healthcare software, ours will be built to be incredibly beautiful, intuitive, and easy to use.

We'll know we've succeeded when nurses spend a higher proportion of their time on patient care and are able to comfortably handle a higher patient load, leading to higher profit margins for the home health providers who employ them.

This should only be the beginning of the innovation we will bring to this industry.

As the Senior Engineer you will:
Research, prototype, and implement novel uses of LLMs
Review all features being added to the system, while also being the main contributor to the code-base
Balance new features and bugs, and ensure a proper QA strategy to keep users trust in the system
Know every in and out of the new tech platform

What we are looking for:
5+ years of experience in full stack web development (Preference in TypeScript and React with a strong interest in the tooling and ecosystem for creating applications that use LLMs)
Ability to collaborate effectively with others
Capability to quickly get up to speed on the impact we are trying to have on core users
Understanding of what has been built to date as well as the patterns and architecture of the software system
