Description

Work from written or verbal instruction, drawings, route cards, and knowledge of production operations to anticipate department needs and coordinate material handling operations to transport materials, equipment and castings as needed to facilitate production.


  • Maintain an uptodate inventory of components for work in progress. Prepare status reports and notify appropriate parties of discrepancies between inventory and components required for production.
  • Review available tubes in the process area and locate NCRrequired test material in the fab areas. Support the organization and staging of tubes in the pullbore and bevel yards. Organize and stage tubes in the yard by orders, tube lengths, bevel types, counts, and locations. Identify and sort tubes/components and transport them to proper locations. Store and retrieve tubes/components and update storage records.
  • Monitor and coordinate salvage activities to ensure accurate information on tubes/components and communicate salvage needs to appropriate persons.
  • Communicate with department Supervisors on job status and tube/component shortages and any overage tubes/components to the project manager when orders are complete.
  • Oversee and coordinate chip, cropping ad scrap storage and movement.
  • Coordinate and oversee waste management streams (i.e. proper storage of coolant, electronics and other hazardous materials and coordinate with safety team for the proper disposal of materials).
  • Perform material handling as needed to facilitate movement and organization of materials.
  • Maintain log and service records on forklift equipment and report malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to facilitate production and material flow.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including attention to detail.
  • Experience tracking inventory.
  • Experience with basic measuring instruments.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. repetitively and pushing and pulling heavy loads.
  • Must have or be able to obtain forklift certification.
  • Ability to utilize a tablet and variety of computer software programs to track inventory locations, levels, casting and related testing information.
