Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Trains and develops managers within assigned line of service on human resource processes and procedures to assure familiarity, understanding, and adoption.
  • Recommends and/or implements innovative approaches, policies, and procedures to improve the efficiency of services performed and support provided.
  • Leads and/or supports the implementation of HR policy compliance with federal, state, and local law; contributes to developing HR and workplace policies as needed and directed. Monitors and ensures compliance with applicable employment regulations.
  • Participates in Human Resources team meetings and fosters accountability for results among the team
  • In partnership with line of service management, effectively handles employee relations, coaching, and counseling initiatives to mitigate unnecessary risk and exposure. Recommends improvements to human resources programs where appropriate.
  • Fosters and maintains a highperformance work environment by effectively managing OHU's performance and learning initiatives. Works closely with management staff to ensure timely and effective delivery of performance evaluations and supports management's efforts to provide constructive feedback to improve individual and organizational performance.
  • Champions staff learning and development, knowledge sharing, and crosscollaboration to build capacity and address capacity gaps across all levels.
  • Designs and delivers employee training content. Trains and develops managers within the assigned line of service on human resource processes and procedures to assure familiarity, understanding, and adoption.
  • Monitors compliance with Worker's Compensation, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, unemployment hearings and all other applicable laws/regulations in the assigned line of service.
  • Actively participates in line of service meetings.
  • Actively identifies, leads, and implements projects that improve approaches and processes in the organization.
  • Maintains outstanding customer service and supports colleague's efforts to do the same.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to locations within lines of service

Qualifications

Education

  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources or related field

Experience

  • Minimum 35 years of HR experience; child welfare experience preferred.

Other

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record with OHU (One Hope United) required levels of coverage for auto insurance.

Required Skills:


  • Demonstrated expertise in the principles and practices of recruiting and employee retention; applied understanding of and experience working in the social services sector.
  • Demonstrated strategic planning, project management, and business systems implementation skills
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal; ability to present effectively and concisely to a wide variety of audiences, including management, staff, Boards of Directors, and external partners
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including staff leadership to maximize productivity and effectiveness
  • Elevated level of initiative and selfmotivation, including proven ability to learn, grow, and succeed
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn systems, processes, and procedures and be able to assimilate information and build solutions in response to OHU's business and talent/workforce needs.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with HR technology with an emphasis on applicant tracking systems.
  • Analytically and strategically driven leadership and managerial skills
