Responsibilities
As our Womens Care/Mother Baby Nurse at CHI Saint Joseph East Women's Hospital, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you'll care for the newly delivered Mother and for the Newborn with kindness and compassion.
The Women's Hospital at CHI Saint Jospeh East is a family friendly environment focusing on the safety of the mother and baby.
To thrive in this role, you'll need to appreciate that routine is never routine.
We have some wonderful days in this department and get to be with people through huge milestones in their lives.
We also have some hard days and are with people as they grieve. You must be sensitive and understanding to different circumstances. Above all else, you must remain calm in an emergency.A patient's status can change quickly and it's never good for the patient or family to see the nurse in a panic.
You're calm. You're in control. You're handling the situation.Educate patients on various interventions or procedures
Assess newborn and provide care.
Communicate with the care management team, including anesthesiologist, physician or midwife, lactation nurse, charge nurse, postpartum unit, patient and family
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Degree (ADN) in Nursing from an accredited nursing college or program
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license cleared by the Kentucky Board of Nursing or with eNLC multi-state practice privilege
Previous RN experience within Womens Care strongly preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required to obtain within 6 months post hire
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Pay Range
$ $43.50 /hour
