    Position:
    CNC Machinist & ProgrammerLocation: Richmond, VADuration: 6-month Contract to HireShift: 1st Shift Schedule (Mon - Fri)

    Pay Rate:
    Up to $38.00/hr


    depending on expertiseSUMMARY:


    Skilled in CNC mill programming, setup, and operation, as well as handling manual equipment and lathes to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts according to precise specifications.

    Collaborates with Shop Foremen, Quality Control, and Production Planners to ensure adherence to schedules.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
    Execute all tasks prioritizing Safety, Quality, and ProductivityComprehend and comply with Company policies and proceduresAccurately record time and job-related dataEfficiently set up and operate CNC or EDM equipmentCoordinate schedules with Shop Foremen and Production PlannersVerify readiness of programs, tooling, and materials before machine setupProficiently utilize cutting tools and fixturesEnsure safe equipment operationInspect completed parts for defects and conformity to specificationsPerform setup, operation, and adjustment of various machine toolsMark dimensions and reference points on materialsAdjust machining controls for optimal performanceMonitor machine operation for abnormalities and make necessary adjustmentsMaintain cleanliness and organization of the work areaSecure fixtures, tools, and materials onto machinesAnalyze blueprints and engineering information to plan operationsDiagnose machine malfunctions and perform adjustments or repairsParticipate in on-site training and safety courses


    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Must be a U.S. CitizenPass a background check and drug testEffectively communicate job instructions in EnglishAbility to analyze and solve problemsStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skillsProcess-oriented mindsetContinuously update knowledge and apply it to the jobSelf-motivated and collaborativeExceptional time management skillsPunctual and quality-consciousDetail-oriented and able to handle pressurePositive attitude, integrity, and strong work ethicWillingness to perform assigned tasksEDUCATION AND/


    OR EXPERIENCE:
    Minimum seven years of manufacturing and machining experienceProficient in CNC or EDM programming and operationFamiliarity with various programming typesContract manufacturing experience preferred


    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
    Interpret blueprints and GD&THandle raw materials safelyProficient with measuring instrumentsOperate overhead crane


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    Occasional sitting, squatting, and kneelingFrequent bending, lifting, reaching, and pushing/pullingMostly standing


    WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    Indoor climate-controlled shopSafety glasses always requiredModerate to high noise levelClean and organized work areas
