    Description

    Summary



    This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.



    Duties


    This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until September 30, 2024. Eligible applications will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as-needed basis until positions are filled.

    This position is assigned to the Behavioral Health Service Line (BHSL), within the Fayetteville VA Health Care System (VAHCS) located in Fayetteville, Wilmington, Brunswick, Goldsboro, Jacksonville, Lumberton, Robeson, and Sanford, North Carolina. The supervisory hierarchy of this position falls under the authority of the Chief of Staff. The Chief of (BHSL), Chief of Psychology, and/or Assistant Chief of Psychology. He/she will provide mental health prevention, assessment, treatment, management, and professional consultation services.

    • Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions including individual therapy, group therapy, and psycho-education classes.
    • Conducts evaluations to aid in the differential diagnosis of complex cases.
    • Provides consults with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues.
    • Develops person-centered and recovery-oriented treatment plans to address mental health needs of patients.
    • Provides emergency/crisis interventions to stabilize patient(s).
    • Provides patient care via tele-mental health in accordance with national/ local performance measures.

    - PCMHI Psychologist: Fayetteville and Wilmington

    - Outpatient Substance Use (STAR) Psychologist: Fayetteville, Wilmington, and Jacksonville

    - Outpatient Trauma (TSP) Psychologist: Fayetteville

    - Inpatient Psychologist: Fayetteville

    Work Schedule: Full Time, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm; Monday - Friday

    Compressed/Flexible:Discretion of Management

    Telework: Yes, ADHOC basis only
