Job Summary and Qualifications:


As the Electrophysiology (EP) Technologist is responsible for the delivery of quality patient care to the patient undergoing a procedure in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab Department.

The quality of care given will be in keeping with the philosophy and objectives of the hospital and the Department of Nursing and will maintain and support the standards of nursing care and practice in order to meet the health care needs of patients, their families, and the community.


What you will do:


  • You will scrub in Electrophysiology procedures.
  • You will monitor cases in the hemodynamic system, pacing and monitoring rhythms.
  • You will assist the Cath lab for cardiac,neurointerventionaland holding area as needed.
  • You will monitor cases involving radiofrequency ablation for arrhythmias, cryoablation for treatment of Atrial Fibrillation.
  • You will assist with pacing heart rhythms during procedures, assisting physician to operate ablators during procedures.
  • You will analyze complex arrhythmias during procedures
  • You will monitor fluoroscopy for accuracy in catheter placement during cases.
  • You will use sterile technique for assisting physician during device implants for permanent pacemakers, chronic resynchronization therapy devices and internal cardio defibrillator devices and all other duties as assigned.
  • You will support left atrial appendage closure cases.

What you will need for this position:

  • BLS and ACLS through American Heart Association or American Red Cross upon hire.
  • Must have one of the following:
  • State Licensure of RRT, RT (R), or RCIS/RCES Certification.
  • A graduate of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate academic program in health science includes, but not limited to cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing.
  • 1 year of EP Technologist experience is highly preferred.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
