Position Description:

The Material Handler is responsible for a wide variety of support services to production and service departments involving material handling.

Perform duties to move materials, supplies, and raw stock to designated places in the facility as needed to maintain the flow of work in various production departments.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform forklift safety inspection daily and note any problems or concerns.

Follow safety rules and keep work area clean and orderly.

Moves stock to the appropriate staging area for further processing.

Ensure that material is removed and packaging materials is supplied to and from manufacturing workstations.

Notify supervisor or maintenance department of equipment problems.

Notify supervisor and segregate any unserviceable containers.

Take all deliveries along with packing slips to designated areas.


Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Education and/or Experience
One or more years of forklift experience working in a manufacturing setting preferred.


Skills and Abilities
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
