Director, HR Business Partner, who will provide leadership and generalist support to Berlin's Americas Region.

This is both a strategic and tactical role providing HR leadership and direction consistent with the organization's strategy, values, and business model.

As part of the Americas HR leadership team, this role is responsible for delivering business and people solutions that build leadership capability, support organizational change, and drive engagement.


Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Champion the Berlin Packaging culture and values, partnering with leaders at every level, to ensure a highly engaged workforce and positive employee experience.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, thoughtful sounding board, and business partner for leaders as the expert on people and organizational issues.
  • Lead and develop a high performing HR Business Partner team to deliver the Americas region business/talent strategy.
  • Translate the strategic and tactical business plans into HR plans.
  • Collaborate and partner with the CHRO and HR leadership team to develop and implement new and innovative solutions to help drive key people and culture focused initiatives including talent acquisition, compensation, performance management, career development and succession planning.
  • Build strong relationships throughout the organization to identify issues, monitor organizational health and provide effective solutions and advice when opportunities to improve are identified.
  • Identify key performance indicators for the organization's talent management efforts including talent assessment, succession planning, and career development to build a robust leadership pipeline.
  • Serve as an advisor and coach to leaders and employees related to career development and performance improvement.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee and labor relations issues, conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations, as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources and talent management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills & Experiences:


  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field required; Master's degree preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience.
  • Experience in a fast paced, high growth, multisite distribution or manufacturing environment, preferred.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with strategic HR experience
  • Proven track record working across a complex highly matrixed organization, with strong ability to problem solve, manage conflict, and establish/maintain working relationships with employees at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and persuade at a senior management level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; exhibits high levels of emotional intelligence
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employmentbased laws
  • Broad knowledge of HR practices including talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, benefits, compensation, training, and organizational development
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of financials
  • Excellent project management, organizing and planning skills, and a results orientation
  • Ability to exercise sound independent judgement, stay calm under pressure, and handle multiple issues that can be of a sensitive nature
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, HRMS, and ATS
  • Ability to travel 25%

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
