SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for guiding and monitoring a team of assembly technicians
- Responsible for creating an inspiring team environment, with focus on safety, quality and productivity
- Responsible for setting clear goals and tasks and monitoring progress on a daily basis
- Monitors department's KPIs and provides guidance and adjustments as needed to achieve department's goals (safety, TAKT time, ontime delivery, throughput, OTIF)
- Delegates tasks and sets deadlines
- Identify training needs and provide training and guidance to the assembly technicians
- Is first point of contact for all team members
- Acts as a liaison and works together with other departments to achieve organization's goals
Hands-on requirements and responsibilities:
- Assembly of fiber laser cutting machines and subassemblies utilizing drawings, schematics, process documentation, work instructions and/or verbal instructions.
- Receiving, unloading and unpacking material needed for the assembly.
- Preparation of tools, fixtures, and documentation needed for the assembly run.
- Inprocess testing, final testing and recording test data as specified in work instructions and/or inspection test plans.
- Performing basic parts and subassembly transactions using SAP ERP system and other applicable computer software interface(s) to record assembly steps completed.
- Filling out and maintaining documentation related to machine assembly (electronic and/or hard copies).
- Following the safety guidelines and recommendations established by the company and the manufacturing department.
- Participating in projects and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintaining production floor and workstation cleanliness and organization, as well as preventive maintenance of tools and any other applicable instrumentation used in production and testing.
- Completion of assembly tasks in timely manner and with acceptable quality.
- Ability to develop productive and collaborative working relationship with all team members.
- Flexibility and willingness to cross train on different functions and/or product families.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Read, write and speak English fluently.
- High School Diploma or GED. Associate degree preferred but not required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing assembly environment. Machine building or machine service experience preferred.

- Ability to listen and work collaboratively
- Ability to read, comprehend and interpret work instructions, engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to use hand tools and powered tools such are wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, drills, pneumatic tools, etc.
- Ability to use fixtures and other applicable manufacturing aids in assembly process.
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of basic technology terms and mechanical / electrical interactions of subsystems within a system.
- Some traveling (domestic or international) may be required for training purposes.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Good color acumen and color vision.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend or reach frequently during the duration of the work shift.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
