Overview:

The Safety Training Specialist is responsible for the development, design, maintenance, implementation, and delivery of EHS training for all Milton CAT/Milton Rents branches.

This includes Department of Labor and other agencies (OSHA, MSHA, EPA, DOT, MEWP, etc.) and all other safety & environmental content/services.


This role will work with the EHS Manager to create a strategy for multi-modal delivery of EHS training to employees across the company.

This will include a blend of in-person instruction, video based, and web-based learning.


Responsibilities:


  • Continually evaluate and refresh EHS training library (over 100 topics) to ensure content is accurate, current and engaging for Milton employees
  • Assist with development and administration of an ongoing curriculum for safety related training, as well as, coordinate the logistics surrounding training schedules, dates and communication with outside vendors for specific training topics such as rigging, MEWPS, electrical safety, CPR/AED/First Aid, blocking & cribbing, and fall protection
  • Assist with preparation and delivery of monthly safety training topics for operations teams
  • With the EHS Manager, create a safety compliance training calendar to ensure all regulatory compliance obligations are captured on a schedule for annual completion
  • Create schedule for and participate in delivery of safety leadership training for supervisors & managers (includes START, Speak Up-Listen Up and NSC Supervisor Development in Safety curriculum.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of principles of adult learning theory, instructional systems design, and needs assessment techniques
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA & MSHA training requirements, initiatives, and key content delivered by safety development team
  • Strong knowledge of best practices for teaching and learning, industry standards, terminology, and technical requirements
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products; Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point, etc.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Strong planning and coordination skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects and deal effectively with employees and management

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Organizational Development, Project Management, Business, or Safetyrelated field
  • 57 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

Travel:


50% to 75% travel; which will be a mix of day travel and overnight travel to the various branches within the northeast states and NY.- This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
