POSITION OVERVIEW
The Palm Springs Animal Shelter is hosting a children's Animal Camp this summer.

If you enjoy being around children and animals, and are enthusiastic about education, we'd love to have you join us as a camp counselor.

The counselors will greet the arriving campers each day and introduce presenters. There will be at least two animal-themed presentations each day led by outside experts or shelter staff.

The campers will interact with a variety of animals (cats, dogs, goats, pot belly pigs, horses, reptiles, and hamsters) during the presentations.

The Summer Camp Counselor must be comfortable around the animals, but will not be required to touch or hold any of the animals unless they choose to.

Thursday of each session is tentatively scheduled for a field trip to Laster Ranch in Morongo Valley, which the counselor must help to lead.

The counselor will also be required to lead or assist with crafts and music. There will be adult volunteers assisting with most aspects of the camp including field trips.

The Counselor will be required to have reliable transportation.
