Role Overview:


Reporting to Director, Accessibility, the Access Services Coordinators are responsible for supporting the implementation of Lincoln Center's accessibility and inclusion plan for the 2024 Summer for the City series.

In addition to supporting access workers at performances and access services across venues and events, and processing individualized access requests from guests, this role will also serve a communications hub for general inquiries from guests about the vibrant summer program season.

Responsibilities Include:


  • Provide onsite support for access services at both indoor and outdoor venues
  • Support advancing of access services with access workers, including compiling prep materials from artists, coordinating arrival and escorting during events
  • Liaising with Production team to ensure access workers' production needs are met, including scheduling arrivals, technical set up and sound check testing
  • Field and implement accommodation requests from audience members
  • Planning, advancing and staffing disabilitycentered social events and workshops
  • Assisting guests upon arrival, distributing accommodations and supporting seating
  • Liaise with the Guest Experience team to support recurring access accommodations maintenance, including assistive listening devices, chill out space supplies and noisereducing headphones
  • Creating and posting signage related to accommodations
  • Collecting guest feedback, including but not limited to focus groups, surveys and anecdotes
  • Design visual direction guides, using social narrative best practice
  • Represent Lincoln Center at community events and conducting outreach to expand audiences
  • Passion for inclusive and accessible practice
  • Ability to support in person performances 35 days per week/weekend (both indoor and outdoor), with flexibility to work remotely outside of performances
  • Curiosity to build experience in arts accessibility field
  • Familiarity with disability culture, access services and cultural arts
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail, with ability to identify gaps in accessibility and make suggestions for future improvements
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, including technical production and guest experience staff, access workers and audiences with disabilities
  • Interest in building knowledge of disabled artistry and artistic integration of accommodations
  • Lived experience with disability strongly desired
  • Working knowledge of ADA compliance and WCAG standards a plus, but not required
