This is a 12-month limited term position and may be extended to a maximum of 24-months and/or may become permanent based on operational needs.


The Accounting Disbursements Bureau is recruiting a motivated self-starter looking for a challenging, exciting, and friendly working environment with a variety of work assignments at either an Accountant Trainee or Accounting Officer, Specialist level in the Contract Payments Unit.

This position is Limited Term with the possibility of becoming permanent.

  • Accountant Trainee: The Accountant Trainee level will learn to perform various accounting duties including: identifying and resolving payment procedure problems; reviewing and analyzing Financial Information System for California
- (FI$Cal) financial reports; acting as a liaison to control agencies; and assisting with research to answer correspondence or to provide information requested by management. Participates in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the County Expense Claim Reporting Information System (CECRIS) and FI$Cal projects to meet daily operational needs.

  • Accounting Officer, Specialist: The AO-Spec is responsible for performing various accounting functions including: identifying and resolving payment procedure problems; reviewing and analyzing Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) financial reports; acting as a liaison to control agencies; and assisting with research to answer correspondence or to provide information requested by management. Participates in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the County Expense Claim Reporting Information System (CECRIS) and FI$Cal projects to meet daily operational needs.

  • This work location is very convenient The CDSS is located two blocks from the light rail and public transportation: within walking distance to the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmer's markets and the Golden 1 Arena. Our building has easy access to I5, Highway 50, and Highway 80.
