    Temporary Prep Chef/Kitchen AssistantDepartment: WellnessReports to: Head Chef/Kitchen Manager and Sous Chef/Kitchen Coordinator FLSA Status/Hours: Temporary Position Up to 30 Hours Per Week (Possible Temp to Hire opportunity)

    Essential (onsite daily)SUMMARYUnder the direction of the Head Chef/Kitchen Manager and Associate Director of Wellness, the Prep Chef/Kitchen Assistant will provide support and assistance to the Kitchen team and be at the front-line for member safety and well being.

    The Program Assistant will translate mission, policy and REACH practice into direct application for members.

    The Assistant will support the preparation and delivery of daily food service and special events to APCH members, staff, and community members.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIESFollows the direction of the Head Chef/Kitchen Manager & Sous Chef/Kitchen Coordinator and supports the preparation and proper distribution of daily meals and snacks (up to 400 served per day)Assists with the cleaning and maintenance of the kitchenAssures preparation of food is compliant with dietary and health department standardsCompliant with all kitchen safety standards and ensures any volunteers, temporary workers, and APCH members in the kitchen follow all protocolsSupports with catered special events (i.e.

    Thanksgiving, Scholarship Luncheon, and department program events as scheduled, etc.)Assists with tracking and documenting temperature controlsBuilds knowledge of healthful ingredients and cooking methodsSupports other team members in carrying out the agency philosophyHelp in the implementation and continuation of the state and federal food programs(CACFP/SFSP) as directed by the Head Chef/Kitchen Manager and Associate Director of WellnessAdhere to the highest ethical and professional standards and values at all timesPerform other tasks as assignedQualificationsQualificationsThe Prep Chef will be an individual who carries high personal and professional standards, is high energy by nature, and enjoys partnering with others to achieve successful outcomes.

    All fully vaccinated staff are highly recommended to get their booster vaccine once eligible.
