- Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
Must be able to perform the professional, clinical, and technical competencies of an acute care APP in the Department of Cardiac Services including daily rounding with a multidisciplinary team, formulation and implementation of plan of care, invasive bedside procedures, and ACLS protocols.
- Writes orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests. Interprets laboratory and diagnostic test results.
- Able to evaluate medical/surgical problems of Cardiac Services patients and appropriately request consultants for other specialties when indicated.
- Coordinates safe discharge/transfer of cardiac services patients.
- Provides education to patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues and use of prescribed medical-surgical treatments and/or medications pertinent to the Cardiac Services patient&39;s condition.
Documents all medical evaluation, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations consistent with all regulatory standards and evidenced-based standards of care.
Maintains documentation compliance for appropriate coding and billing.- Safely perform invasive bedside procedures required of the cardiac services patient.
- Coordinates safe discharge/transfer of cardiac services patients.
- If the work area includes the operating room, APP must be able to: a. Perform endoscopic and open conduit harvesting. b. First assist in cardiac surgical procedures.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
