- Greets students and provides direction and assistance
- Maintains lists, files and inventory
- Monitors and accompanies students as they move throughout the lab and school
- Assists the Vocational Evaluator in the administration, interpretation, editing, recording, and reporting of assessment data and reports
- Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities and other special needs
- Works with students individually and in small groups
- Provides general and specialized assistance to students and school officials
- Performs related tasks as required
- General knowledge of standard office procedures
- Ability to speak clearly, understand and follow written and oral directions
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Ability to type accurately and at a reasonable rate of speed
- Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Google Suite, etc.)
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform arithmetic operations as necessary to prepare reports and assist with assessment experiences
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others
- Ability to establish a supportive and compassionate relationships with students with special needs
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work
- Successful completion of related Associate's Degree (48 semester college hours)
- Prior experience working with special needs children desirable
- Hold or be willing to pursue CPR/First Aid certification
- Salary Range: $36,351 - $46,629
- Contract: 10 Months

General Definition and Condition of Work: Performs clerical and paraprofessional work assisting the Vocational Evaluator with assessment of students in the ACCESS Vocational Evaluation Center to determine student aptitude, interests, and values guiding the development of instructional goals and objectives related to career preparation. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Vocational Evaluator and Principal. This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects, and some light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects; work requires stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing student performance, general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
