Architect V

Will work in Chicago, Illinois. Telecommuting and remote working allowed.

Responsibilities:


SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE:


  • Responsible for finished plans, specifications, or approval of materials and construction.
  • Supervises and manages project teams at a project wide level.
  • Applies sound and diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices in a broad array of assignments.
  • Acts independently regarding architectural methods and complexities.
  • Makes sound judgements regarding deviations for standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
  • Supervision and guidance mainly concern overall objectives, critical issues and policy matters.
  • Has ability to interact positively with supervisors and staff to assure completion of the project to meet firm goals, quality standards.
  • Has primary responsibility for organization, and preparation of the project documents and for the accuracy, completeness and quality of the work contained in them.
  • Works closely with supervisors, technical director and BIM director to develop workplans, prepare mockup sets and generally organize and manage the preparation of the project documents.
  • Exercises responsible control over delegated tasks. Assists project manager in determining staffing needs.
  • Is familiar with project scope and fee and alerts supervisors when requested services may be outside of approved scope.

Qualifications:

REQUIREMENTS:

***Must have a Master's degree in Architecture or related field plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or Architect, Architectural Designer, or related.

Must have the following gained through education, experience, or licensure:
(1) Extensive working knowledge of 3D design software such as Revit, Rhino, 3DS Max, Vray and Grasshoper as well as the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)

(2) Superior design skills related to the design of large and complex buildings, including mixed-use, educaitonal, commerical, and/or mission critical facilities.

(3) Working knolwedge of US based codes, such as the current International Building Code, and standards related to accessibility and sustainabiltiy such as ADA, LEED, etc.

(4) International project experience

(5) Architectural license
